Error on Windows 7

Mar 8, 2011 at 12:58 AM

I've been using BrowserMaster on XP for a while. I have a windows 7 64-bit laptop I would like to use it on, but it doesn't appear to run correctly.  When I try to run the "BrowserMaster - Set as default browser" shortcut, it throws an error:

There was an error running the BrowswerMaster:

Cannot delete a subkey tree because the subkey does not exist

Any ideas? I'm using 1.1.0 beta.

I have the same issue.
Any help is greatly appretiated.

Also have the same issue myself. I'm assuming it isn't built to handle 64 bit appropriately.

Might have to try building a copy of the source myself...

Me too. (Me four? ;)

Actually, I missed this post at first, because I hadn't noticed the mis-spelling in the error message.
In case others search with the app's correct spelling, as I did, here it is for search engines:
"There was an error running the BrowserMaster:
Cannot delete a subkey tree because the subkey does not exist."

In any case... any update on a fix or workaround for Windows 7?

I downloaded the code and altered it to work with Windows 7. Find it here: https://browsermaster2.codeplex.com/

It is still a work in progress, but I have been using the modified code for 6 months without trouble. Family changes have prevented me from working on it (new baby, etc). Any feedback is welcome.

@ralphyz, if you want to send me a patch I can add your changes to the project.

I'm really happy that you've enjoyed the app enough to fix it. Thanks.
